Where country meets modern art. If Janis Joplin and Johnny Cash had a love child that would be me.
“ Lois Berg is unique and strange with a strong sense of self. There is strength in her uniqueness & voice in her songwriting that is haunting and makes you want to dig deeper. ”
Lois Berg is a force of nature, a chronicler of life and midwife of dreams whose music meets at the corner of real authentic country music and modern art.
She is an amazing story. A wild child from the get go she followed her instincts down a number of crooked paths musical and otherwise. Sometimes these paths lead her astray. She ended up in jail and homeless for eight months. She has worked hard since then and her future looks bright. She graduated from the prestigious Belmont University in 2012.
Lois is no stranger to country music. Her sister is Matraca Berg, three time Grammy nominated and hit songwriter for Strawberry Wine among one of many of her hits. Lois is carving out a niche as one of modern americana country’s most passionate and persuasive singer/songwriters. Her new album is a snapshot of her ability to portray human nature in all its complexity. She is also an advocate for battered women and co-authored a musical piece/play with author Nadia Bruce Rawlings which was in the Critic’s Picks of the Nashville Scene. They premiered at the Dark Horse theater and raised money and awareness for the battered women’s shelter Magdalene Project.
Lois also published a book “Well Behaved Cowgirls” on Amazon.
It is a musical memoir and depicts the true stories behind her music.
Here’s a few of her links.
“This is one of those that points to a diamond in the rough. Lois’s voice is sweet and clear while her lyrics are warm, funny and clever. This is country that brings you in and holds you close like a dear friend. Lois’s personality is also darn cute and addictive”
